MessageSujet: New voice China (中国新声代)   Mar 30 Déc - 18:56

So I recently happened upon a Chinese singing contest on youtube called "中国新声代", literally "Chinese new voice generation"
(Sorry, I couldn't find an English wiki about it, let's just call it "New voice China" for now).
It's structured similarly to "The voice kids" format, complete with the annoying interruptions in the middle of songs! Rolling Eyes

Anyway, seeing as how youtube is banned in China, I'm grateful for the people who posted these clips.
So far there's been two seasons. I find the diversity of ethnic groups fascinating.
I'm not sure if the Chinese characters will show up on your computer systems, so I included English translations.
Here for your enjoyment:

牛欣欣 (Niu xinxin):

灯塔 (Lighthouse)

我的未來式 (My future tense)

刘姝辰 (Liu Shucheng):

我的家 (My home)

不要怕 (Don't be afraid) (I don't know what language this is in Question )

王祥如 (Wang Xiangru) from Taiwan:

同手同腳 (Same hand same foot)

with 張鈺琪 - 回到拉薩 (Return to Lassa)

with 陳湘胤 - 娜魯灣情歌 (Naruwan love song)

聽得見的夢想 (Audible dream)

譚芷昀 (Celine Tam) from Hong Kong:
(She's probably the best singer in the contest considering her age. I think she's been posted here before.)

You raise me up

For the first time in forever

爱是永恒 (Love is forever) (in Cantonese)

香奈儿 (Chanel):

踏浪 (Stepping on waves)

and a cutesy bonus music video she made in the past
挥着翅膀的女孩 (I can fly Mandarin cover)

高俊 (Gao Jun):
(She belongs to the Bouyei ethnic group from southern China)

走进西藏 (Walk into Tibet)

with 茜拉 (Shila Amzah) - 青藏高原 (Tibetan plateau)

杨肸子 (Yang Xizi):
(She is ethnically Hmong)

邊邊妹,美邊邊

this one is subtitled

拜尔娜 (Barna) from Xinjiang, ethnically Uyghur

Oyna (19)  (Sorry, I couldn't actually find many videos of her in the contest, but you have to admit this is very catchy!!)

You can find more videos of her on youtube.

Last but not least...
爱新觉罗 媚 (Aisin Gioro Mei AKA Jasmyn)
Now this one kind of blew my mind. She's the 14th generation descendent of Nurhaci.
Now who is Nurhaci you ask? Well he is basically the grandfather of the Qing Dynasty!! Shocked
(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurhaci)
So she basically has royal blood in her (If you believe that sort of thing.) Shocked
Oh, and her father is English, so she's half Manchu and half English. That's why she mostly sings English songs.

The Show

Butterfly fly away

What a wonderful world

The climb

Christmas is here (Her original Christmas song)

So Barna and Jasmyn also made a music video together!! Smile
Janim

I hope you find at least some of these songs enjoyable!! cheers

JacenJacen,

I appreciate that show too. I have just one to add. This is Rui Wang Zhou (王睿卓 ) from Heilongjiang Province.

I found this translation somewhere last year:

在很久很久以前
Long, long ago
你拥有我 我拥有你
You had me, and I had you
在很久很久以前
Long, long ago
你离开我 去远方翱翔
You left me, soaring far away
外面的世界很精彩
The outside world is so splendid
外面的世界很无奈
The outside world is so hopeless
当你觉得外面的世界很精彩
When you feel that the world outside is so splendid
我会在这里衷心地祝福你
I will be here wishing you well with all my heart
每当夕阳西沉的时候
Whenever the sun sets in the west
我总是在这里盼望你
I will always be here waiting for you
天空中虽然飘着雨
Despite the rain drizzling in the sky
我依然等待你的归期
I will still wait for the day when you come back

I also like Yang Xizi, and Jasmyn songs.

There are more videos on Youku.com, but I find that they load slowly.

SSS_seeker, I'm glad you enjoy the show too.
My list of singers isn't really anywhere near complete, they're just the ones I enjoy the most.
Rui Wang Zhou is really good too! And thanks for the translation!

Speaking of youku, I hear they recently acquired the exclusive rights for the voice kids format in China.
China's Youku Tudou Buys 'The Voice Kids' Format
So expect more kid singers in the future!  Very Happy

Hey JJ. Not much time today. Just dropping in on the forum for a few minutes. I did watch several of these videos the other day, but probably only got through half of them. Lots of good Girl Singers for sure, but I do have one suggestion. I am the kind who likes to see at least part of, and if I really like it, all, of each Girl Singer video posted. You probably broke the record for most videos posted to start a thread. It is a lot to go through. I would suggest not posting so much at once to make it easier on viewers, but also to give you more choices to add video posts in the future. Also, if I like a show, or singer, I like to check them out for other videos I like and post a couple myself. To me, that is the best way of showing appreciation to other members' posts. If you post not so many, it leaves more choices for someone like me to look and choose what we want to contribute. I do appreciated your work and effort though because as I said, there are many good singers in this show. Very Happy

Sorry for replying so late girlsingerfan. I did go a little overboard didn't I? Shocked Laughing
In my defense, I rarely post, so when I find something that I really like, and that miraculously
hasn't been posted here before, I just want to share them all!! I did this in the girl singers from
the Middle East thread too. I'll remember not to be so overbearing next time.

It's all right, except I still have not found the time to watch all these as well as get to all the videos I missed in two other threads. I know I am going to like so many of them. That is the thing with me. I have been on this forum since it started many years ago and I always try to see everything with Girl Singers and make comments on a good portion of them.

MessageSujet: Re: New voice China (中国新声代)   Mer 21 Jan - 4:11

It would be just too much work to comment on all 24 videos, so I will keep it to just my very favorites.

You started off with a bang! I right away fell in love with Niu Xinxin's voice. So lovely! I just know she reminds me of someone. Her voice I mean. Some Girl Singer from several years ago I am thinking, but when the songs and the singers names are not in English, it is even harder for me to remember from that long ago. Maybe it is just simply she makes me think of a slightly older Xiao Si Yun, who is a Chinese Girl Singer I brought back to Youtube after all her videos disappeared. I uploaded 7 videos of her. Check my Youtube channel if interested. I really want to hear more videos by Niu Xinxin. Let me know how she does.

Another good one by her.

Then you have a few by Celine Tam. I know her! She is the only one. All the others are new. Thank you for reminding me of her. I had not seen in her in a little while. I already had the first and third videos you posted of her in My Favorites on Youtube plus a few others. She actually has her own thread started by Tonie. Thanks to your reminder, I think we really need to get back to posting on her thread. She is deserving of a lot of attention.  Very Happy   It is fine that you post her here though, as this is the thread for that show and she is in it. I used to have my favorite Chinese Girl Singers way back when Youtube started and Xiao Si Yun was probably my very favorite for music videos especially, but I then decided Celine was my favorite these days. I think she is only 7 years old!!! Amazing for one that young. I guess I wil bring Celine back to the top of the threads with a post after I finish here. Until I get to there, here is one that is special for the show I think. It has Celine singing acapella and getting more familiar with the judges up close. I think they really adore her, as do I.  Very Happy

Who is the one that sings in the video you titled Don't Be Afraid and you mention the language? She sure can hit the high notes and bounce back and forth from the higher and lower register of her voice.

And who is the singer in the one titled Stepping On Waves? Her voice has matured nicely from when she made the music video you posted after it. Here is another good one I found from her.

Hey Jacenjacen. Please give me the names and maybe other videos of the ones I am asking about. Another one. Who is the singer on the one you titled Walk Into Tibet and the next one with the lady dancing by her. Is it Gao Jun? Whoa, she can really sing and what is that style called? That is more difficult to be good at that style singing I would think. I was going to say that Celine Tam will win and maybe she will, but maybe this girl could do it too. I may be rooting for Celine because I know her well and she does so many kinds of songs, including in English, but this girl may be just as good a voice, but a bit older, so who knows how Celine might be in a couple years too when she is this girls age. I would be happy if those two take first and second place. Very Happy

Since you posted a music video of Oyna, I will too. I looked in the related videos and found Let It Go in Chinese! Your video was fun, but she sounds really good in this video.

At first, Aisin Gioro Mei AKA Jasmyn was just Ok with me, but then I started to like her more on the What a Wonderful World and then I really liked her on The Climb. I love that video that her and Barna made together.

And now for the final comment or should I say, QUESTION?? I have said who I am rooting for, but then I realized this is already determined. Wasn't this show last summer? So who won and who was runner up and all? Anyway, great bunch of kidsingers. I think there is much more to see of these singers, including music videos and other shows and performances. Look for the new Celine Tam posts.

Wasn't this show last summer?
First off, a few notes about the contest. There has actually been 2 seasons of this show already. One in the summer of 2013, and one from the summer of 2014. Jasmin, Barna, Chanel, Liu Shucheng, Crystal Lee, Yang Xizi, Rui Wang Zhou (王睿卓) are from season one. The others I posted are from season 2. The season one winner was Rui Wang Zhou. Season 2 didn't seem to pick out any one individual champion as far as I can tell. The contest seemed to be more focused on the 3 teams, or "classes" as they're called on the show, competing in several different categories, thus winning as a team. Exactly how this works, I'll have to watch the full shows first. (Haven't had time yet) The full episodes can be found on youtube.

Here's a baidu page about the show, mostly about season one (only in Chinese Sad ):
http://baike.baidu.com/view/10288726.htm#5
According to the logo, the show is called "Let's sing kids". However the info right below the intro lists the English name as "New generation sound of China". I think I'll go with the logo!

A Chinese Wiki page:

I remember Xiao Si Yun, they are somewhat similar, aren't they?
I think I have a few more videos of Niu Xinxin (牛欣欣) from this show. She also did a whole bunch of New Year music videos with Liu Shucheng (刘姝辰) and a few other kids a few years ago and some other music videos in the past few years. All in all I've found around 60 songs on youtube.

Celine Tam is amazing! With a voice coach as a dad, I'm sure she'll get better and better!  Smile

"Don't Be Afraid" was sung by Liu Shucheng. "Stepping On Waves" was sung by Chanel. "Walk Into Tibet" was sung by Gao Jun (高俊). The lady dancing and singing with her in the second video is Shila Amzah (茜拉). She's actually one of the judges. I have no idea what that style is called.  Sad
Remember, I've organized my post by singers, so if you're not sure, you can just scroll up until you hit a name!

Citation :
Since you posted a music video of Oyna, I will too.
"Oyna" is the name of the song. The girl's name is Barna.

And since you asked, here's a few more from Liu Shucheng (刘姝辰):

Moonlight

One not from the contest:
Dreamer in the air

Niu Xinxin:

How long can I stay a child

One not from the contest

Dance miracle

And some from Barna:

Lazy song

Childhood

There doesn't seem to be other performances by Chanel or Gao Jun on this show.
If you want, I can start a new post dedicated to Liu Shucheng and Niu Xinxin. They both have around 60 videos on youtube.
Wow this was a long post, but you did ask a lot of questions!!

Hey JJ, thanks for the quite complete answers. Yes, I did ask a lot and you came through. Smile

I certainly do like Niu Xinxin's voice and good to hear you know who I was talking about and agree. Weird though, I liked her more pop sounding song (Dance Miracle) less than the contest performances. Maybe it is just that song that I don't like so much.

The little one is so fun on the Lazy Song, but the other one has too much of that electronic sound in the voice. Don't usually like that. I am in a hurry, but I did want to acknowledge your efforts on my behalf. Have to get back and look at more from these various Girl Singers.

Hello SSS_seeker. I am happy that the forum is so active these days and you are one of the members that are a part of that. Harder for me to keep up with it all, but I will keep trying. Smile

I actually like Niu Xinxin's voice when it matured more. In that first video, it almost seems like a 5 year old voice, but Niu looks more like 10. I like the look of the video and the dancing and all, but just not the vocals so much. I like the next video better and already had that in my recent additions on Youtube, but the third one you posted was new and I liked that one very much, so thank you for that. I am not sure. Did most of these videos come after her appearances on the NVC or before?

Here is another really good one I found of her. In fact, this could be my very favorite from her. I like the song a lot and the production on the video.

Yes, I thinks so. The name is right and she is Hmong. Apparently she's singing traditional Hmong songs in a traditional costume.

I don't think JJ! I don't think SSS_seeker was being critical, but just making a comment meant to give info. He has been posting the same kinds of videos from Niu Xinxin and I think it is hard to determine which videos came before and which came after the NVC show and it doesn't matter. As long as there is a connection of some sort, it's all good as we say in the U.S. Smile

The live version of Dance Princess sounds exactly like the music video! HA! No big deal. I have seen many of my Girl Singers lip syncing on stage to a recording. Going back to the GREAT MIsabel sometimes for that.
