PostSubject: Hip Hop, Rap, Techno or similar   Mon 26 Mar - 22:10

After lately finding several videos of this kind of music, I thought I would start this thread. The way I think of it, Hip Hop is a more musical form of rap, with singing or almost singing in it. Rap is just rap. I guess that would mean I like some hip hop, but not so much rap. It is not a favorite kind of music for me, but some of it is good sometimes for a change. A few of these may have appeared on the forum in other places and can be reposted here in this thread. Of course, the Girl Singer who has the biggest and most expensive videos for this kind of music because of who her dad is, is Willow Smith. She will be reposted here. I just started a thread for JadaGrace, so I will not post her, at least not right now. See her thread if you like hip hop.

After starting this and getting a question below from Rakugaki, I will put this answer here so that it serves as an explanation of what this thread is for.

I guess I put them together because they all often have sections of the song where they do not really quite sing, but talk. In the case of rap, they don't sing at all. In other words, this is music that has use of the human voice but at times it is not quite singing. Also, in these kinds of music, it is often the beat or rhythm or production that is much more important than the songwriting or singing.

This is my favorite by Willow.

This is Franchesca Maia, who has been on the forum several times. I will not repost her Fantastic version of On the Floor, even though it is right for this thread. Maybe later, but If someone else wants to repost it here, then great. i will instead put this new one by her.

I will just start with these four. I have more, but I want to give others a chance. Whoever wants can repost or do a first time post what they know of this kind of music here.

I don't know why you put techno with hip-hop... But why not this thread, it's interesting.
I love Willow too !

Well Rakugaki, I guess I put them together because they all often have sections of the song where they do not really quite sing, but talk. In the case of rap, they don't sing at all. In other words, this is music that has use of the human voice but it is not quite singing. Also, in these kinds of music, it is often the beat or rhythm or production that is much more important than the songwriting or singing. Does that explain it enough? Very Happy

I would like Montse a lot, if they just didn't make the electronic thing to her voice... Mad Montserrat is a cute name for a girl. Wink

Well Moorvis. I would usually agree with you on the electronified sounding voices, but I think it is to be expected in this kind of music. I don't mind it as much in the music category of this thread as long as it doesn't go way overboard with it.
