MessageSujet: Various Italian Singers   Jeu 17 Juin - 2:43

It used to be that when I thought of child singers from Italy, I would think of Zecchino d´Oro and Piccolo Coro. Well, not anymore! I just found several more that I really enjoy. They are mostly from Italian t.v. shows, especially Io Canto and Ti Lascio Una Canzone. That is a good thing, because they often feature full orchestra, back ground singers, dancers, and always good sound and stage production and good video quality. I don´t even mind the dancers in these. Because of the t.v. setting and the atmosphere they are trying to create for it, it seems to fit OK most of the time. They do different pairings for duos, which are fun. Sometimes 2 girls, and sometimes a boy and a girl, and sometimes with an adult singer who is probably an Italian recording artist. Many of their songs change tempo or style once or twice during the song, so always listen to the whole song if you can. There are also teen and young adult singers that are in these shows, but I will not post them unless their is a duet with a KidSinger. If anyone wants to research and find out more about some of the individual singers, and post it here, that would be wonderful. I will try to do some of that also.

There are alot of videos. I will resist posting them all at once and making it too much work for you guys. I will post several though, so I hope many of you can find the time. If you want to see all that I found so far that I liked, go to My Favorites on www.youtube.com/user/girlsingerfan and they are at the top.

The first one that I found, that led me to the others was this one. I knew the girl looked familiar. It was because she started with Zecchino d O´ro. Her name is Viola Cristina. Don´t worry Rakugaki. They are not all ´crying ballads´as you call it.

This next one is a top favorite song for me from this group and that is why I am happy that they did it twice with different Girls. Actually, Cristina also does it with a teen girl singer, so they do it three times that I know of.

The two cutest girls from this group. Sara Musella & Liudmila Loglisci

Viola Cristina e Sofia Buresta

How about some boy/girl duets?
Liudmilla Logliscie and Davide Caci
This first one is my favorite boy/girl duet I found from them so far.

Sofia Buresta e Luigi Fronte

This is Giovanna Perna. She is the youngest I believe. Her videos usuallly say she is 7 1/2. Oh my! Close your eyes when you listen to this and tell me if she even sounds close to seven. As far as just her voice and the clarity and timbre and purity and such, she could be the actual best singer of the bunch, especially as she gets to be as old as the others in a couple years.

Here are some slightly older kids that are some of the strongest singers of this group. Two boys and two girls and they are all four very good.

Liudmila and Sara again.

Here is Sara Musella by herself. There are two versions of this on youtube. In this one, for some reason, he holds up a paper for her. I don´t know what that is about. In the other video, she does not do that, but the sync is off on it and I think I like this performance better anyway.

There is also a Girl Group that do a few songs. This is probably their best.

OH MY! Sorry, that is more than I had planned. Hope you like many of them.

Sara Musella

Liudmila Loglisci

Very interesting !
I didn't know the show "Io canto" but I know "Ti Lascio una Canzione" (I have recorded the 2010 edition). I think kids are younger and less pro in "Io canto"... No ? (but very cute ^^)

I have posted a nice performance on YouTube :

Giulia Bellu - La partita di pallone (Ti Lascio una Canzione 2010)

Well Raku, you could be right. I did not separate them in my mind. As I said, I found the one and then just started jumping around in the related videos section and found many more that I really liked. Afterwards I noticed that many of them said either Io Canto or Ti Lascio una Canzione as the shows. The song Le Mille Bolle Blu that I enjoy so much in the second and third videos, are from the two different shows. Giovanna Perna and the kids singing La Prima Cosa Bella in the 7th and 8th videos posted, are probably the best singers, but not necessarily the ones I enjoy the very most. They just do not beat out the cuteness of Sara Musella & Liudmila Loglisci in the second video posted, for instance.

I do like Giulia Bellu, but that one you posted is only my second favorite of her. My favorite from her is the one she does with Viola Cristina. Don´t know how I missed posting this one. It is probably one of my top 3 favorites from this group of videos. Great, catchy song and strong performance from both girls, who are then joined on stage by child dancers, which is usually better than adult dancers. This song starts slow and then gets going fast. This was true of the song in the second and third videos posted. That is why it is good to keep watching the video for all those that do not like slow tempo songs as much as faster ones. Very Happy

Viola Cristina is soooo cute! Like her voice a lot too Very Happy
No doubt I like Sara and Liudmila's verison of the song! Better performers and cuter voices. Sofia and Viola sounded good together I think it was sad that Sara and Liudmila sang it mostly solo.
I enjoyed that first duet they are both so cute and I really like the voices of both of them too.
I recognize that blond woman in yellow from a Maria Isabel video Razz I guess the same comment should go for this video as the second one. I like the songs they are singing too.
I like him more than her in this one...
I did as you said, no she does NOT sound like 7, it is unbelieveable!! Shocked I am not too much of a fan of her voice though I can hear that she is very talented
Yes they are very good, like this video a lot.
Of course I still like these cuties, goooooood!!
She seems a bit nervous at first, but then she seems to forget it. I like how her voice sounds here A LOT!
Nice girl group too Smile
Giulia is also good, especially in the video with Viola that one was great!

Thanks both of you I really enjoyed looking through this thread. I loved how the kids were supported on stage by a real orchestra that was amazing.

Sorry Caroline. It took me awhile to get back to this and comment on your comments. I am glad you seemed to really like these as a group of videos. Thank you for taking the time to watch all of them. This has become some of my very favorites. It is weird how we hear different things sometimes. I think the seven year old, Giovanna Perna, is one of the most amazing under 8 singers I have ever heard. I really like her voice and will look and hope for more.

Just a couple more just for fun.
Viola when she was very young and with Zecchino D´Oro. This is not necessarily really good singing. She got better a couple years later, but it is a cute one and we see how far she came in a short time.

I know that Raku especially is not a fan of the power kind of singing or ´crying ballads´as he says, but the first Girl Singer I found on Youtube more than 3 years ago that was a ´Power´singer, was Charice Pempengco from the Philippines. She is not a child anymore, but about 16 I think. She is still short though. And still pretty. Smile
Here she is guesting on Ti Lascio Una Canzone, singing with Viola. Viola is as expected, overpowered by Charice, but Charice can overpower just about everyone on the planet, so Viola should not feel bad.

Well, anyway, I like the video. ^^

And I have already seen the Charice video at Ti Lascio Una Canzone but you're right, I don't like that. Razz

I was wary to watch any because Italy seems to = ballad but I liked Liudmilla Logliscie and Davide Caci.
Giovanna Perna is going to be so good when she's older! But at the moment she has some Anna Bergandahl action going on, her voice is up down up down shaky.
I enjoy the girl group Very Happy (but they remind me of a Maltese girl group)
Liudmila Loglisci is my favourite flower

Yes Rakugaki, there is a thread for Zecchino D´Oro and I started it. As I have said a few times, some videos go into more than one thread. This is Italian and because there were several videos posted of Viola, I thought this one of her fit even better here. Very Happy

For this group, it is somewhat difficult to pick a very favorite, but I guess I would have to go with Sara Musella & Liudmila Loglisci together. They are not necessarily the very best singers of all these(but they are good I think), but they are the most fun to watch and I really like the two songs they do together. Viola is my second and very close next favorite.

Super cute of Viola! She certainly got better quickly Smile

Very nice duet, just wish Viola could have sung more. I like both Viola and Charice pretty much or maybe I am mixing Charice up with someone else now Laughing

I really like this new girl in Ti lascio una canzone. I also just posted a video of her in the MySpace Artist thread.

In this one, it starts with a lot of low register notes and then changes into a showcase for her power. This girl is only 12, but handles this like a seasoned professional. Listen for the great high note toward the end.

Same show. Different girl singing with a boy.

Hey Raku! If the girls and boys have nice voices, why don't you like the show? Don't like Italian music? You like some of Piccolo Coro and Zecchino d' Oro, so maybe that is not it. Hmmmmmm??? I think it is one of the best shows for kidsingers. Pretty much all of them can sing pretty good and are confortable on stage and are entertaining.

I love italian musics but the songs on this show are boring. It's a show for grandma... I know, we now have the same show in France called "Le grand show des enfants". Always crying songs, absolutely not modern.

I found a new favorite on the Io Canto. They now have a little red haired cutie that sings quite good. Here are two of her and another where she joins my two other favorites from the show. I have also just posted this same girl when she performed with Zecchino D´Oro in that thread.

MessageSujet: Re: Various Italian Singers   Sam 29 Jan - 22:17

You are right about the title Rakugaki. I guess it is because it looks like lo Canto in the many of the video titles and speaking some Spanish, lo Canto or Lo Canto means I sing it. I know this is Italian, but the two languages have similarities. Io Canto and lo Canto look the same on Youtube in most places. Anyway, I went back and edited all the places I put Lo Canto. I also found embeddable versions of two of my recent posts and changed the posts to those.

Now I want to express some thoughts more strongly and clearly. After viewing this many videos from these two shows and thinking about it, I wonder how many regular t.v. shows have the quality and scope of these? I really believe that these two Italian productions are some of the very best quality t.v. shows ever that sometimes feature kid singers. Think about it. This show, besides having nice sets and looking good, it also has a large, live band, and the kids always sing live. They may not sing every note perfect, but I don´t expect that from preteen singers. They are singing live in front of a live audience and with a live band. I think they do great! Did I mention how cute they are?

I guess your answer Raku to why you do not like these shows alot is that the songs are old fashioned, or not modern enough. You usually like Zecchino d´Oro or Piccolo Coro. Those are not so modern songs are they? Of course, those shows have songs that are more children songs, and Io Canto and Ti Lascio Una Canzone are Italian pop, with an occasional American song? I don´t know the culture so well, so this is just a theory. It does not matter to me personally though, because I like it all! Very Happy

Anyway, just to make sure no one missed this one earlier, please see the above post of my three favorite Girl Singers from these shows. The only one that has all three together. It is the third video posted on this page.

Here is another one from the little red-haired girl.

I also just found this girl. At the beginning, when she is singing low notes, she is maybe just OK, but after she gets going about a minute in, I think she does pretty good.

Been awhile since I posted something from the other show, Ti Lascio Una Canzone.

I had not seen that! You know Stardust that she is posted on the forum several times in a couple different threads I think. Her and her older sister. She´s not Italian! I do know these shows invite guests from other countries, so I guess I should not be so shocked, but I was.

I do thank you very much for posting that, but I do strongly disagree with you about Io Canto. The kids are cute and funny, and good singers, with a nice looking stage and good band. What is boring about that?
