PostSubject: Barbariki (Russia)   Sun 2 Mar - 21:14

Le groupe Barbariki est déstiné aux jeunes enfants et est aussi composé de jeunes enfants. C'est, d'après ce que j'ai compris, un dérivé du fameux groupe Street Magic (vu au JESC en 2005).

The band Barbariki is really for little kids and it's made of young singers. As I understand, it's a sub-group of the famous Street Magic (seen at the JESC 2005).

Ah I understand now why they wear those silly costumes and do music that sounds VERY childish. Have they done any different kind of music, like for older kids? They could be good, but the music for very small children is not my cup of tea. Hope they branch out and do other things.

Barbariki is a sub-group of Street Magic. And Street Magic kids are older than Barbariki (maybe you saw them at JESC 2005).

Well, it is not the age of the kids. They are not that little. Some of the Street Magic stuff is fine. I am just not a fan of kids singing that is primarily for foreign language(for me) animations. I like a limited amount or just certain ¨very kiddy singing,¨ such as the Chinese girls posted on page 20 of the One Day/One Clip thread and of course, Cleopatra Stratan. I also don´t like the silly costumes for the show. I know that I would like this group of kids just fine if they do something else. I found a song I like pretty good from them. It is a recording with just a photo, but I do like them in this. Very nicely produced studio recording.

I am not a fan of that very childish stuff either. This song is kind of annoying.

The kids are cute and they are probably all decent singers, but me, who likes so many kinds of things, do not like so much two things. Kid singing that represents animated or puppet characters on t.v. shows and then you see them in costumes, especially the wigs, and kid singing all together with no solo singing. Every once and a while I like some group singing with no solos, but it is rare. I don't mind all the group singing as long as I get a soloist. Smile
