As far as being either a kid group or teen group, I think they are pretty much like most of the other Japanese Girl Groups. The girls sometimes look a year or so older than they really are and the group has a combination of still preteen girls and young teens, such as 11 to 14. Same kind of age mixture as the non Japanese KidTonik also for example. That is Ok with me as long as the younger ones are getting some some solo singing in there. I do maybe prefer the groups where the average age is a little younger, so that you can truly call them a kid group, such as the Orange video recently posted in the One Day/One Clip thread. I love that one!

I like the song and I like their voices. Thanks again for that post.

Hey Fangji, it is good to see someone else on the forum with some enthusiasm for these groups like me. Caroline is another, but she has not been around so much lately. There are a few others that seem to like them OK.

That first video you posted, or the song anyway, is a real different style for them. I like it for that reason, but wish there was one of their usual music videos for it. The second one is not that great for me, because it is not really live, but just lip syncing to a recording and they don´t do much of a production on it.

I don´t know what it is about the song Piriri to Yukou!(third video you posted). There are several different versions of this same song by both C-ute and the Berryz. It is either the producers or girls favorite song or it is their theme song or something. Do you know? I am not complaining because I do like it, but just wonder why there are so many different versions.

I have seen that last one of Aa! several times, but good to have it posted because Suzuki Airi is so cute and has such a cute voice. If I had to pick a no. 1 favorite from all these Girl Groups, it would probably be her.

Here is the version of Piriri to Yukou! that I probably saw the first and is probably the one I think of first still.

More Berryz and C-ute.

the two of C-ute videos are from dvd magazines. they went to an aquarium and camping. they did many activities together.
singing is a special part at the end in dvd for fanclub. in Hello Project they can sing a song from another senior groups. C-ute had no their own song those times.

i am happy that you like them. japanese girls are really cute especially Berryz Koubou.
i like first two videos you posted. Very Happy

Hey Fangji, I do remember Tokyo Girl's Style from when they were posted in this thread before. I like them very much and it seems like you are the best forum member ever to gather information on Japanese and Asian Child singers, so I ask you when I need help in that. Very Happy

Karen's Girls is another favorite of the last two years or so. It seems like no one has posted this Great video yet, so I get to do that. Very Happy

I guess they broke up. Too bad, because I understand they were/are quite popular and sold pretty good. Here is one the members going solo. She is not a group of course, but I post her because she used to be in Karen't Girls. This is her live and she sounds pretty good.

Candy Star I believe has appeared on the forum before, but I don't think this really cute video has been posted.

So here are a few I just found by Dance Nuts. I know nothing yet and do not have the time to research. Maybe Fangji or Rakugaki or someone else knows something. Smile

PostSubject: Re: Japanese Girl Groups   Fri 1 Oct - 22:05

I would say it is amazing that these Japanese Girl groups just keep coming at us. When I started this thread more than two years ago, I don´t think there were so many of course, but I was already seeing the start of this phenomena. How they just keep forming and maybe only last a year or two and new groups often have members from a former group.

I would like to see more official music videos of Sakura Gakuin. This video has alot of talking before they get to the singing. For the Japanese Girl groups, the music videos are always better than the stage production videos. 10 members is almost too many I think. I looked. 3 fourteen year olds, 1 thirteen, 4 twelve, and two eleven year olds. They almost always seem to have that age range for the bigger groups.
