Yes, pretty sure she is 13 now. Maybe for not so long, but recently.

Hey Clearsky!! If you do not like this song, how come you post it by another Girl Singer in the Child Singers That Also Play an Instrument thread very recently? Laughing

I myself LOVE that song. Very Happy

Because I can accept the difference between a song I don't like and a bad song. Wink

I missed this video when it first came out because I had only subscribed to her long time regular channel and now she is associated with VEVO and Disney and I had not subscribed to those. Even though Sabrina just turned 15, so she isn't really a kid singer anymore, I still enjoy her. She is one of those rare ones who I have continued with as they have transitioned to a teen singer. She is an actress now and is on the Disney series Girl Meets World. Here is her wikipedia too.

Sabrina is one of those rare Girl Singers that I am pretty sure I am going to continue to enjoy even as she is becoming fully a teen singer and then later an adult Singer. She is actually 15 now and I still love the sound of her voice. For those that missed it, she is a paid professional now. She is on a Disney show and has a contract with a record company. See her recent  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabrina_Carpenter

What a great new song and video from her. I love the chorus on this.

Isn't there any Sabrina Carpenter fans left on this forum? No comments on the post above on the movie she is in that is in the theatres right now. She looks like she did really good in that.

Well, let's see if this does it for anyone. Here is a FANTASTIC fan video that does a really good job of showing Sabrina from her earliest filmed performanes and then her evolution on Youtube and to recent times, but doesn't seem to include the Professional work she is doing lately and getting paid for such as the Disney t.v. show and the movie I posted about. This is really so good for anyone who loves Sabrina or wants to know more about her. This shows so well why I consider her one of my top ten Girl Singers of ALL TIME!

I can't say I've been a fan. Instead, this is my introduction to Sabrina Carpenter. I've seen her name and regarded Sabrina as a teen singer, so I've past her videos by. I've ignored Sabrina suggestions by Facebook friends, Youtube, etc. However, this morning I have a few minutes to relax and watch the video. I need to have more mornings like this.

What caught my ear was the blues near the end. It's not easy to sing the blues. Not every good singer can do that. I hope Sabrina has a good career ahead of her. I see she is 5'0". I have to say I do like seeing someone who is not cut from the Hollywood mold enjoy this kind of success. Very Happy

If you can go back and watch again, watch from 2:00 minutes to 12:37. That is from when she became a little more mature and better voice until just before she was no longer a preteen. That is her heyday as a child singer. She really dialed back the video releases and went a new direction at about age 13 as she had her goals set on bigger things that she actually gets paid for. I always made comments on how she came up with a different look in each video and a different style song. She even sang a Vox Angeli song and a Japanese song when she was a preteen. If you don't know Vox Angeli, then you MUST watch this video. One of my favorite songs by a preteen group ever!!

Sabrina did this song, and she did it fine, but it was not a favorite because she could not outdo Lola from Vox Angeli, but her French was decent I think. If you seriously want to give her a chance, go back to the beginning of this thread and watch some. If that is too much work, at least watch these.

Still a preteen and completely live.

I've also followed her from when she was a preteen, from her sabrinastar youtube days. It's wonderful watching them grow, and amazing seeing them have so much success.
I mean movies, TV shows, professional singer!! Astounding!

Some of the milestones of her career I'm especially fond of include her rendition of "You raise me up", which went viral in China. She was then invited to China for a performance. Another American girl singer was also invited there, the incredible Rhema Marvanne! Unfortunately for Sabrina, I think Rhema kind of stole her thunder.Razz
The next big thing I remember is her singing on a Romanian TV show. What really blew my mind was her getting together with Miruna Popescu, that was very exciting!Very Happy
And now she's on Disney with her own TV show and officially released some songs. I wonder how big she'll become in the future?

Thanks for that great comment JacenJacen. I guess somehow I missed the China thing with Rhema(whatever happened to her?). Is there any video in existence? I did find a low quality video that a guy recorded from Chinese t.v. and he was a little late starting the recording. She does really well in this so it is hard to think of the younger Rhema stealing her thunder after this, so this is probably not the same you are talking about. I will post the video below. I think she was 12 in this video. Yes, You Raise Me Up is in the list I gave SSS_seeker and is a huge favorite for me. I remember so well when she got together with Miruna. I was freaked out. Freaked out in a good way. Laughing I think maybe we talked about it in Miruna's thread and she commented how Sabrina came to visit her. That was sooooo cooool!

Oh it's the same performance. I got a hold of a longer version of this show, showing both their performances and the interview afterwards. The host spent most of the time talking with Rhema. I agree Sabrina was amazing, but Rhema's young age combined with her incredible voice simply blew everyone away! Of course I'm only basing this on the time the host spent on the performers, maybe that's not an accurate reflection of the audience's perception? Who knows? Question

Sadly having foreign performers like this will be rare in the future, because right after that year the government placed restrictions on how many foreign acts can be had each year or something. They're very serious about protecting Chinese culture over there.Shocked

I've searched but Rhema seems to have retired.Sad No new songs and no announcements either. I'm not a religious person, but boy is she a treat to listen to! Great

Same feeling here. I am not a fan of religious music, but I would listen to Rhema. I do miss her.
